About the Project

WEC served as an electrical supply partner supporting Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) infrastructure improvement programs — one of the nation's premier rapid transit systems operating 131 miles of track. BART's capital improvement program includes rail replacement, transbay tube retrofit, traction power substation upgrades, and fleet modernization, funded through Measure RR bonds and federal grants.

WEC's Role: Electrical Supply & Logistics

WEC supplied electrical equipment and materials for BART's infrastructure capital programs, providing procurement logistics coordinated with the authority's complex multi-project construction environment. WEC's Caribbean and East Coast distribution capabilities supported the unique procurement requirements of this major West Coast transit system.

Project Impact

BART's capital investment supports millions of daily riders, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and positions the system for growth to serve a Bay Area population projected to reach nine million residents by 2040.
