About the Project

WEC served as an electrical supply partner for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol — Virginia's first permanent casino resort and one of the most transformative economic development projects in Southwest Virginia in decades. The 620,000-square-foot resort opened November 14, 2024, featuring nearly 1,500 slot machines, a 303-room luxury hotel, seven dining venues, and a 2,000-seat entertainment venue.

WEC's Role: Electrical Supply & Logistics

WEC supplied critical electrical materials and equipment for the Hard Rock Bristol complex, coordinating deliveries aligned with the accelerated phased construction timeline. WEC's logistics capabilities were essential given the complexity of outfitting a large-scale entertainment resort on a compressed schedule.

Project Impact

The project created 900–1,000 construction jobs and supports over 1,400 permanent positions, generating significant gaming tax revenues distributed across 12 counties and two cities in Southwest Virginia.
