About the Project
WEC served as an electrical supply partner for Dorado Beach Health (now Sabanera Health Dorado / Doctors' Center Hospital | Orlando Health Dorado) — the first private hospital of new construction in Puerto Rico in over 15 years. The $107 million facility opened in March 2022, featuring 75 private patient rooms, 20 suites, 8 ICUs, 4 NICUs, and a 20,000-square-foot multi-specialty clinic. Developed in collaboration with Triple-S Management, Doctors' Center Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Medicine International.
WEC's Role: Electrical Supply & Logistics
WEC provided specialized electrical supply for the hospital's complex electrical and life-safety infrastructure — including ICU, NICU, operating theaters, and advanced medical equipment systems. As a Puerto Rico-based electrical supply company, WEC was ideally positioned to support this flagship healthcare project with precision procurement and reliable delivery.
Project Impact
The hospital created over 1,000 direct, indirect, and induced construction jobs and supports approximately 870 permanent positions, expanding Puerto Rico's capacity to provide world-class healthcare and attracting international medical tourism.
